Leon De Kock

I have been active as a South African writer (three volumes of poetry and one novel), literary translator and literary scholar/public critic for over 30 years (current age 56). I have published 12 books and more than 60 scholarly articles and book chapters (see www.leondekock.co.za). A recent co-authored article of mine (with one of my grad students) in fact deals with Nicholas Carr, refuting his 'shallows' argument in relation to digital reading. I am interested in how the DH can help me curate and re-scale South African literature as a whole, and how the DH can help bring about a more dynamically networked African literary field.
