I'm an associate professor of English at Northeastern University, trained in the field of early American literature. My work is in the area of 18th-century Atlantic studies, with more recent focus on the Caribbean. I am the new co-director of a center for the study of Digital Humanities and Computational Society Sciences at Northeastern. My own work in DH involves GIS mapping of textual space; I am also helping to develop a digital archive of early Caribbean texts that will include an interface to enable network analysis of texts in the database.
